Roller Derby Rocks!!!

For once,I have an awesome posting about something positive. I just came home from a Roller Derby competition. The bout was called the Crosstown Knockout. The feature teams were the Black and Bluegrass Moonshiners ( excellent!) and the Cincinnati Silent Lambs. As a bonus, I got to be the human score board. I didn't get paid, but I did get into the arena for free and I got a real good view of the bout since I was standing in the middle of the circle inside of the track. For those who have been to a derby, you know what I am talking about. A friend of mine skates for the Moonshiners. It was a totally awesome experience, I will definitely go again.

Jaded? Probably! But I'm doing something about it.

I know it has been a while since I posted to the journal, but I have been legitimately busy. I am currently going away from the online school which I have come to find is basically crap and will probably not pan out. Thank God I did not pay out of pocket. So, I am going back to Cincinnati State and getting my Associates in Information Systems Teccnology Network Admin. I have been wanting to get out of the medical field for quite sometime. I am finding it more difficult to be compassionate at work. For those of you who have known me for years know that this is unusual for me. Being responsible for the personal care for 18+ dementia patients all by your lonesome is very taxing emotionally, mentally, and physically. So, I have decided to make a career change that is fairly stable and due to previous credits, will finish fairly soon. Also, I may have to give-up on seeing my friends for a while, but it will be worth it once I finish my degree and I can finally be able to rejoin the rest of civilisation by working more days and possibly fewer weekends. Strictly speaking, I have always favoured computers over medicine, not to toot my own horn, but I am pretty fair at handling an emergency situation, such as, knowing what to do when a person is having a heart attack or some other code situation that occurs at the hospital. I saved a Doctor's ass from screwing up an emergency situation.I took temporary control of the situation and the life of a patient was saved that day. The doctor even admitted that he was impressed with my abilities. He and I still talk about that and he and I have been on very good speaking terms. How many people can say that? Oh wel, I have errands to run and I will continue this post later.

My day off

Today I went to the Victory of Light Psychic Fair. It was huge! I got to see my friend Blanchard and I got a reading from a guy named Blue Hawk. The guy was pretty accurate. Hey Frank give me a call on my cell .I have some news to tell you. It was a pretty big day for me. I was stressed out at work this week. I feel shredded right now. Hopefully my first beer batch will come out pretty well. Perhaps my next few posts will be more coherent. This is eosaph1, signing off.

Update

Due to the weather,I have not been able to post for a while. I was able to hang out with friends this weekend. I am getting ready for work tomorrow. I am finishing up my laundry. So far, I am writing to keep all interested parties posted on my progress. Although, I have to admit, writing down your thoughts does have a therapeutic value. Either a forum like Livejournal.com, or better yet, your own personal journal for thoughts that you really want to keep to and for yourself.

My un-day off

Today I "volunteered" on my day off to take the residents of the nursing home I work in, to Golden Corral, a buffet resturant. It was nice for the residents to get out, but it was just a lot more work than what I wanted to do on my day off. Oh well. I was still able to some of the other things done which I needed to do today. I am worn out. I know this seems a little negative for a first entry, but I write how I feel.On a more personal note. Last week I went to see a band called Ten Penny. This band kicked azz. The band does covers from Top 40 hits from the 80's, 90's, and current stuff. Check them out at www.tenpenny.net. That's all for now. <br /> eol
